Portable Greenhouse Kits
A portable greenhouse can make the difference between a disappointing and a successful gardening season. If you look on the Internet you’ll find that there are many different portable greenhouses to choose from in many different shapes and sizes. What are the differences between all the different types? You’ll find small greenhouses to those shaped like a dome, to greenhouses made especially for flowers. A portable greenhouse can be a great solution if you’re moving from one climate to the next and need to acclimate your plants to a different location. If you’re in the middle of moving you probably don’t have a lot of extra time or money to construct a permanent greenhouse building. A great compromise until you get you and all your plants settled in is a portable garden greenhouse.
One greenhouse you might find is the flowerhouse conservatory greenhouse. This portable greenhouse is 10 feet high and has a diameter of 9 feet. The roof of this structure is very steep so if you plan on keeping the greenhouse up all winter you shouldn’t have a problem with snow accumulating on the roof and possibly collapsing the structure. The environment created in the flowerhouse makes it most suitable for growing and maintaining tropical plants, flowers, vegetables, fruits, spices, and herbs. You can use this portable greenhouse in all climates and geographic locations. A tote bag is included with your purchase and no tools are required for assembly. Once the greenhouse has been put together it weight a little less than 50 pounds.
Because this greenhouse is so tall and narrow you might worry about it falling over in high winds. One clever customer came up with the following solution: “Besides the ground stakes provided with the FlowerHouse we purchased about $20 dollars of black corrugated plastic sewer pipe material, placed it on top of the outside staked skirting & then simply filled the pipe with small rocks. This added countless pounds of additional weight at the base of the structure.” It seems the solution has worked well since the greenhouse withstood Oregon wind gusts of up t0 80 mph.
